Questions You Should be Asking the World Around You
Western sanctions have failed, while the state’s “Buy Russian” mechanism is working, said Gillbert Doctorow in an interview with Sputnik radio.
In his report for Russia Insider, Gillbert Doctorow noted that there is plenty of high-quality fish, cheese, fruit and vegetables in Russian supermarkets. The majority of food products are produced in Russia and delivered by Russia’s new suppliers, while some of the prices for Russian goods are at least 40% lower than those for goods from Western Europe.
This is really uplifting, not just for producers and consumers, but also for Russia’s fans around the globe. Sanctions that were imposed by Europe and the United States were meant to hurt Russia, but as it turns out, sanctions have only made Russia more resilient and more independent. It was really stressing to hear about sanctions day after day. It’s good to hear that sanctions are actually having the opposite effect, and that the Russian people are coming together to build a stronger Russia.
