Questions You Should be Asking the World Around You

Is Israel in Need of Foreign Aid? Part 3.

Good morning! Thank God it’s not World War 3 yet.  Today we take a close look at “missile welfare.”

In 2007, the Bush Administration changed its foreign aid policy to Israel from one that was part economic, to another that was purely militaristic in nature.  A $30 billion aid package was agreed upon between the Israeli government and the U.S.

2007changesCounting from 2009 and excluding 2015, the aid package counts to approximately $17.61 billion.  ($12.39 billion to go.)

If the news is to be trusted, then over $700 to $900 mil in additional demands by the Israeli govt. can be added to that $30 billion figure.  This doesn’t take into account the unlisted private donations from other U.S. entities.

Please refer to Part-1 and Part-2 of this series for additional info.

As listed in the screen shot above, large sums of money are being funnelled into the development and the stockpiling of Israeli missiles.  The Iron dome gains its fame from shooting down rockets fired from Palestine. David’s sling is a mid to long range missile program. Arrow 2 and Arrow 3 are long range missile programs.

But all that money, to develop and stockpile missiles, to do what? So far, the only combat the Israeli military has seen in the last ten years, is combat against civilians.  Lets take a look at the 3 most recent offensives.

warssince2007A consistent 63% inflicted casualty rate on the civilian population of Palestine.  Where were the programs that taught soldiers how to gather intel?  Or the programs that taught soldiers how to tell the difference between an armed combatant and a child playing during recess?

Israel’s credit is also artificially boosted by foreign aid.  I’m not certain if this is part of the $3 billion the US gives to Israel annually, it looks more like an additional sum guaranteed to Israel should they run out of bullets and missiles against Palestine.  Take a look at the screenshot below.

artificial boost in creditThe scary part about this whole deal is the Arrow missile program. If you’ve paid attention to the news in recent years, Iran is repeatedly scapegoated for more U.S. funding. But Iran is not geographically located on the other side of the planet. The Arrow 3 is a space missile.  Essentially a vessel that can be used in an offensive capacity against any – random – nation – on Earth.  It doesn’t look very much like a defense program.
