Questions You Should be Asking the World Around You

A Sense of Where the Israeli Mainstream Stands with Regards to George Soros

It’s easy to get a sense of where newspaper publications stand on particular issues. All that one needs to do is to scan the headlines.  Reading the articles by random gave me quick overview of what the Israeli mainstream thinks of George Soros.

haaretzsorosHaaretz is a left wing newspaper. It’s a very good newspaper to read because it tends to criticize the Israeli government from time to time. It’s always good when a newspaper challenges its own government because without it, governments get to go full authoritarian, with zero checks and balances to protect the citizens.

Haaretz is pro George Soros.  Haaretz tends to paint Soros as a good guy with good intentions, who uses his vast wealth to practice “philanthropy.”

Soros’ wealth and influence being used as leverage to weaken sovereign states is actually closer to the truth.

The Times of Israel is a newspaper publication that tends to write articles for younger people. I can’t tell whether it is right wing or left wing, but it is very protective of Israel.

With regards to Soros, the Times of Israel treats him as a wealthy billionaire who has strong political connections. It doesn’t go as far as treating him as a player on the side of the home team, but it does acknowledge Soros’ vast wealth.

The Times of Israel is not afraid of criticizing George Soros because several articles were written by the Times of Israel detailing the DCLeaks. In the DCLeaks, Soros was exposed as a person who favors Palestine. And we all know how Israel hates Palestine…

Times of Israel is neutral, with tendencies to fluctuate between being pro or anti Soros.

jpostJpost is anti-Soros. This one was very easy to spot. JPost really does not appreciate Soros’ meddling with Israel’s policies towards Palestine. If there’s one thing that pisses JPost off, it’s people defending Palestine.
