Questions You Should be Asking the World Around You
I’ve seen this before. It was so funny the first time. I remember criticizing a Canadian news anchor for reporting fake news, and when her company’s reputation started to buckle, a third party out of the blue, awarded her with an award for journalism. This is comparable to Obama’s noble peace prize, and Hillary’s rigged primaries.
German chancellor Angela Merkel has been awarded a prize for her migration policy during the refugee influx in 2015, raising a few eyebrows among some politicians and people on social media.
The prize hailed Merkel’s “civil courage” over her handling of the refugee influx into the EU and Germany in particular.
“It’s a bit strange, because one is used to spending the whole day fighting,” Merkel said, apparently referring to the harsh criticism she received following the adoption of her so called ‘open-door’ migration policy. During her acceptance speech however, she did not elaborate on the refugee crisis itself, but called for “solidarity in Europe.”
For reference, this is the news anchor I was referring to. Her company (CTV news) was one of the big news companies in Canada responsible for spreading Russophobia and pro NATO expansion. CTV propagated rumours that Canada’s sovereignty was under threat of a Russian land invasion, and that Canadians were obligated to rally behind Obama and the US Democrats.
We all know what happened with that narrative. Canadians were so awestruck by the absurd blanket astroturfing of the facts, that they got up and voted the Prime Minister out.
It had a rippling effect which saw the defeat of Obama’s political party in the Presidential elections as well.
Martin Schulz appears to be picking up steam in the polls.
He’s the former president of the European Parliament, and is now running for the German Chancellorship. Oddly enough, there appears to be money being spent on promoting this guy across social media as well, because apart from EU parliament broadcasts, this guy is relatively unknown outside of Germany. What I mean by this is that, if you were not European, you wouldn’t care about who this guy was; but now he’s portrayed as a “superstar” on social media.
Schulz is anti Trump and pro immigration, and he appears to toe the party line by mirroring Merkel’s sentiment over “liberal values.” This isn’t strange because Merkel is in the CDU, while Schulz is in the SPD; and the CDU and the SPD plus the CSU, forms the “big” party in Germany. Either Merkle or Schulz, Germany will get stuck with the same leadership.
Unless of course if Merkel plays ball with Trump?
