Questions You Should be Asking the World Around You

The Left’s Narrative on Preet Bharara

Preet Bharara was fired after refusing to hand in a letter of resignation this morning.  Let’s take a look at the narrative being given to us by Obama’s followers.

The story is narrow, as can be expected since not a lot of details are out yet. With only minor differences between numerous articles published this morning, most of them were generally on the same page.  I’m not sure if this story will gain any more traction.

The Washington Post:

Requests such as these are normal with every new administration.

Trump met with Schumer, and Schumer praised Bharara.  Trump then met with Bharara shortly after the election to ask him to stay on.

Bannon and Sessions wanted a clean slate of federal prosecutors.

It was a power play by Bannon and Sessions against the democrats.

Businessinsider:

It’s normal for new administrations to ask for resignations.

Both Trump and Sessions originally asked Bharara to stay.

Schumer made the request to keep Bharara on during talks with Trump on how to best work together.

The call for resignations was prompted by Fox News’ Sean Hannity who called for a ‘purge.”

The NYTimes:

Fox News’ Sean Hannity is to blame, but the White House insists that it wasn’t.

Trump and Schumer’s meeting to try and work together did not go through. Their relationship soured.

Bharara being fired was not meant to be a punishment to Schumer, says former Schumer aide Phil Singer.

Trump had felt under seige over leaks springing from the White House.

The Guardian

Trump had previously asked Preet to stay on. Preet agreed.

Sessions had previously asked Preet to stay on. Preet agreed.

Preet in the past had investigated (D) Andrew Cuomo, (D) Bill de Blasio, and (R) Dean Skelos.

Preet was investigating Fox News’ Roger Ailes over sexual harassment claims and Fox’s failure to tell its shareholders.

Preet was chief counsel to Chuck Schumer during the GW Bush era.
