Questions You Should be Asking the World Around You

Small Improvements in Japan

Dentsu, one of the leading ad agencies in Japan plans to cut overall working hours per person by 20 percent. It’s part of a plan that seeks to improve labor conditions within the company.

This comes after Matsuri Takahashi took her own life after suffering a mental breakdown due to overwork.

Dentsu plans to cut overall working hours from 2,252 per person, down to 1,800 per person. The plan includes hiring more people, implementing a work at home system, and giving employees three days off each week. Dentsu plans to accomplish this goal by 2020.

That’s a good thing. The labor force needs to relax a bit.
