Questions You Should be Asking the World Around You
It’s time to get comfy. This North Korea situation is a toughy. I thoroughly believe that Kim Jong Un is willing to halt missile test operations. He might not admit it outright, but I’m sure that somewhere in the back of his mind, he’s thinking he just wants his country to be left alone. I also believe that China would welcome that idea too.
In my view, things have gone relatively well between the north and south (aside from a few spats and minor entanglements here and there). Compared to the scale of entanglement between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, this North/South Korea thing is very salvageable.
What we need from the American side is a token of faith. Let’s not burn all our bridges in one go because that would be reckless. We should give the ambassadors a lot of room to work their magic. Let them hash it out, and see if an equitable solution can be made.
In the meanwhile, get comfy. This North Korea thing is sticking around.
