Power corrupts, and absolute power absolutely corrupts. Witness Twitter’s ideological dysphoria refusing reconciliation with its own previous maxims.
We have a lot to fear from big tech censorship, even if you’re from the left, the right, or center. When you see Twtter making moves like this in the mere span of 3 days, you know there’s something deeply wrong with their perception of the words ‘order’ and ‘consistency.’
Let’s assume that one day it becomes fashionable to give homeless people food and money. At first the homeless will be adequately clothed and well fed, but in the interim the homeless won’t be able to afford shelter or the means to access basic human luxuries such as the internet, which would have otherwise given them opportunities to seek jobs and assistance.
But where do homeless people usually sleep?
Warm underground parking lots
24/hr ATM rooms where banks keep the heat on at night.
Corporate private properties where they are less likely to be seen by society. (Some of these places are warm too)
Homeless renaissance.
Suddenly the homeless demographic’s life expectancy goes up, and more and more of them are active and mobile. They are able to scavenge for food and scraps at much greater velocities and for greater distances than normally anticipated. The bourgeois and champaign socialists start panicking. They start seeing this as a threat to the sanctity of their institutions and start cracking down on these “robust able-bodied vagrants.”
Censorship of liberals
Scores of homeless people are arrested, or brutalized, or unjustly abused, but you won’t be able to speak out about it on social media because Twitter is extremely dependent on corporate investments, and they start banning people for the mere mention of the phrase “compassion for the homeless.”
Consequences
On a basic level this extends past the example I have pointed out above. There’s the environment, wildlife, racism, wars, corporate monopolies, white collar crime, domestic propaganda, etc. etc. If we give corporations absolute power in restricting speech it will lead to massive massive instability.
Remember Sergey Brin, Larry Page, Susan Wojiksky, and Jack Drosey cannot fathom what it’s like to live without power and influence, and so they don’t have a clue what it’s like living in reality.
The power is in the hands of the average people. You outnumber them 99 to 1. Don’t let the big tech fascists steal your power.
