I just got back from the mall after looking at the prices at the food court. $40 CAD for a 10 piece bucket of chicken at KFC with 6 side dishes. That is roughly $29.25 USD. Just to give you a little bit of perspective, a cotton T-shirt at Uniqlo costs $29 CAD. Lol.
And in Japan, a 6 inch pizza with 1 topping is ¥1,000 yen, which comes out to roughly $6.4 USD! That’s a small slab of processed wheat with tomato sauce, cheese, and only 1 topping!
I guess pegging one’s currency to the USD wasn’t such a good plan after all!

I think so. I believe in “living within your means,” which in essence tells us to avoid being greedy. It gets messy when more than 1 person is actively engaged in running a multinational corporation. :)

Covid 19 was a wonderful gift for some companies to raise prices sharply. Food, housing, energy, services… And what is installed once stays. At the same time, the standard in many areas (trade, services, medical care…) is falling drastically. And this gap will continue to widen, just like the gap in income.

Covid19 really did a number on all of us didn’t it? It would not have been so bad if they hadn’t spoken about it as if it were a zombie epidemic, which makes me question whether or not politicians and health officials believe in the supernatural. Is there any chance of reversing any of the things that this issue has wrought upon society? I’m very uncertain.
